Renovation of Belle Glade Historical City Hall

The EDGE Board entered into a management agreement with the City of Belle Glade to obtain the funding to renovate the Historical City Hall on  Historical Avenue A, that had been vacant since 1974.

After renovations are complete the facility will become an incubation center for the development of 10 Cultural and Technical startup businesses per year.

The project is being funded by a State of Florida Cultural Grant, a Palm Beach County Grant, a City of Belle Glade grant, and through donations from corporate and private individuals.

Historical Main Street Revitalization

The historical Main Street revitalization begins at Avenue A from Main Street to 4th Street.

Twenty five property owners have organized and agreed to renovate their properties on Avenue A from Main Street to 4th St, with financial assistance from the Palm Beach Economic Development Office.

The property owners will receive a small grant to offset the loan fees charged to obtain a low interest (.06%) loan from the HUD 108 loan program with a matching loan for 50% of the project cost from a local bank loan at 5-7% interest which will be amortized over a 20 year period.

Most of the owners will be making structural repairs caused by past disasters along with creating a new facade scheme for the street.
